OUR HISTORY

Green Valley Community Church started in 1930 as a community outreach church. Today, Green Valley shares a fresh vision for reaching the community through the Ephesians 4 model of ministry – ministry based on all the gifts of all the people in the church and not just on the abilities of one pastor. This biblical team concept, coupled with a sincere compassion for the lost, sparked a renewed passion for our community.

OUR VISION

LOVE GOD. LOVE PEOPLE.

We want to meet everyone right where they are with serving, classes, and messages that deal with everyday challenges, hopes, and heartbreaks. We believe that God is present in all things at all times.

CORE VALUES

ENCOUNTER JESUS

One of the first invitations to encounter Jesus happened with three simple words, “come and see.” At GVCC, we believe that everyone has the right to hear that gracious invitation to encounter Jesus; so whether it’s in a Sunday service, a small group, or an intentional relationship, we’d say, come and see.

ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY

At GVCC, we believe that people’s desire for community was placed in us by God Himself. We also contend that the strongest and most healing form of community happens around Jesus Christ. That’s why we gather on Sunday for worship and in small groups to further our spiritual growth.

EQUIP TO SERVE

The Bible says that every Christ-follower has God-given gifts, talents, and experiences that are unique to them. At GVCC, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to use those gifts to serve God, their community, and the world.

Our leadership team is passionate about people and maintains a desire to fully engage the church to live a focused, Christ-centered life. Additionally, they are supported by the spiritual support of the Board of Elders. Together, they bring years of wisdom, guidance, and character to our community.

If you want to find out more about our church in person, you are invited to attend our 30 min Next Steps class that starts after the 11:30 AM service on the first Sunday of the month!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

ABOUT GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

ABOUT THE BIBLE

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is God’s word to all. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures are inspired by God, and are infallible and inerrant in the original manuscripts. They are the unique, full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice, and there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

ABOUT SALVATION

Salvation is a gift from God to all people. Men and women can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can a person be saved from sin’s penalty. When God has begun a saving working in the heart of any person, He gives assurance in His Word that He will continue performing it until the day of its completion.

ABOUT THE CHURCH

The church is composed of believers who gather for worship, fellowship, communion, spiritual growth and the use of individual gifts to further God’s mission to reach the world with the message of salvation. Under the supportive care of our staff & elder board, its members are to work together in love and unity, intent on the one ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

ABOUT MEMBERSHIP

GVCC doesn’t do church membership in the traditional way. We believe that if you call Green Valley “church home,” that makes you a “member.” We believe a church is a community of dynamic relationships, where we grow, serve, and give of ourselves to others. If that’s you and you’re doing that here with us, then guess what? That makes you a “member” of GVCC! Welcome to the family!
